When I was eleven I won a red polaroid camera as a 1st price on a drawing competition from the german post. Ever since I’ve been a huge fan of polaroids. Now that the films are disappearing and everybody is talking about it, I feel sad that I have not put more effort in buying films and collecting pictures:( But a lot of people did…
Here’s a selection of works I love – especially the pictures of 4-year old Adie on adielovespolly make me smile

It’s the end of the month again – can’t wait to get my salary to buy these lovely things I’ve been dreaming of this month….
I had a big 80’s party at home yesterday. From Tom Selleck and the Rubic’s Cube, Madonna and Ghostbusters – everybodies outfits were hilarious!
As the food in the 80’s was not particularly special I decide to go for some salty muffins and spicy empanadas. ( Although I have to say that the mud punch, made with vanilla ice, champagne and vodka was very 80’s – and the headache I have today as well:)
Here’s some pictures of the spicy meat empanadas – I adapted the recipe from the wonderful “Bread-and-Honey” Blog, added some cornmeal to the dough and made the filling with minced meat, onions, chili and fresh coriander. Can’t wait to do the next theme party – maybe a prom party would be fun… Any suggestions?

With all my
thank you for all the nice calls, e-mails, text messages, facebook wall posts and comments for my birthday… Mil gracias!

I always wondered why some chocolate cakes are called Devil’s food cakes. Ok there’s always wikipedia to find out, but I thought I’d give it a try and do some practical research:)
These cupcakes I made for a friends birthday came out so rich and moist – you cannot resist, making any “back-from-summer-holiday-diet-plans” impossible. I guess that’s why they call them devil’s food:)
Here’s the recipe for the cakes – the Oreo topping is a special mixture I made up (always good to keep some little secrets)…

Devil’s food cupcakes – ca. 20 cupcakes
******************************************
Ingredients:
*240g all purpose flour
*1 tablespoon baking powder
*240g butter, softened
*180g brown sugar
*100g semisweet dark chocolate, melted
*2 separated eggs
*1 tablespoon vanilla extract
*120ml milk (cow’s or soy)
******************************************
Mix flour and baking powder and set apart.
Cream the softened butter together with the sugar until smooth and soft.
Pour the egg yolks in and beat.
Add then the melted chocolate and vanilla extract and mix well.
Stir in the flour and milk in 3 parts, alternately.
Beat the egg white in a bowl apart until soft (doubled volume) and add to the batter.
Mix well until smooth and spoon in ca 20 paper cups in a muffin pan.
Bake for 20 minutes @175º Celsius
Enjoy

I feel a bit stressed out today :( Sometimes the whole fashion business can be really nasty!
If I’d only win the lottery to open my Muffin Café soon…
Definitely the moment to try the orchid tea flowers y bought in Hong Kong a while ago. Isn’t it beautiful?

I got the “ok” to go to Tokyo in November on an inspiration/shopping trip for work. So exciting!!!!
As a little preview I did these 2 coloured muffins with Matcha green tea powder and white chocolate…

I’ve been in Berlin last week – for me one of the most inspirational cities apart from NY and Tokyo. You can find the most amazing vintage/retro clothes & furniture there (check the Sunday flea markets) and the most delicious food from all over the world for really good prices (I’ve had the best Korean(Omoni) and Thai food(Kamala) in ages – not to mention the hot apple pie and caramel coffee at Barcomi’s and the fresh raviolis, filled with pumpkin and ginger at the pasta stand at the Häckesche Höfe market)…
Definitely a nice city to live in – but what can I say – in Barcelona it’s still warm and sunny:)…

After coming back from an inspirational work trip to icy Berlin (I will post some pics within these days) I received this lovely vintage cake stand that I have auctioned in ebay.
Makes me feel like Marie Antoinette and Mary Poppins at the same time…
I totally
it!
