I cannot express how much I love the incredibly inspiring and magical pictures of this 14 year old girl from Portland. I am sure we will see her shooting an editorial for Vogue or Lula pretty soon – because this really takes my breathe away

After a day @ the “Bread&Butter” fashion fair – which was held for the last time in Barcelona – and a bit of “oh so cool people” and “small talk” I needed some down to earth sweet dessert and went for this delicious tart from one of my favourite cookbooks: The NY Magnolia Bakery’s cookbook. You can find the recipe in the link below. Add some cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg to the apples and you’ll love it

This phrase has been making my days for more than half a year now… It’s everywhere in Barcelona, you can not escape it – on the post box on my way to work, the bibliothek next to my home, the kiosk where I buy the monthly Neo2 Magazine, on every road work and jalousies of shops. Seems to be a new art phenomenon bubbling up all over the world (as in NY and Paris f.e), like the knotted shoes hanging from cables, Banksy stylish stencils and the Bubble project …It may have lost it’s originally charm a bit – but it still makes me smile everyday

Filed Under (cupcakes, food, lovely things) by jenny

I went to an “I don’t want to grow up” fancy dress party yesterday with my friends who went as Mary Poppins, Pippi Langstrumpf, Minnie Mouse and Barbie. I wore an “Alice in wonderland” costume I made. Of course I had to bake some cute cupcakes to complement the outfit. Hope you like them

Filed Under (food, muffins) by jenny

I wish you all a happy new year full of
I heard so many people complaining about 2008 – I have to say my last year was not too bad – but I have a feeling this one will be even better ( maybe I’ll have my own little café, who knows:))
Anyway, I hope you had a good start! I did – with these black and white muffins, I made with my brother and sister. Have a try, they’re really tasty…

Black and white muffins
************************************************

Ingredients for 12 muffins:
*2 eggs
*6 tablespoons soy milk ( or cow’s milk)
*125g dairy free margarine,( or butter ), melted
*125g sugar
*1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
*1 tablespoon amaretto liquor
*250g flour
*1/2 sachet of baking powder
*a hint of salt

Ingredients for the chocolate layer:
*ca 50g melted dark chocolate
*2 tablespoons soy milk (or cow’s milk)
*2 tablespoons sugar
************************************************

Place 12 paper cups in a muffin pan and preheat the oven @ 200ºC.
Mix the eggs with an electric mixer until fluffy and add milk, margarine, vanille sugar, sugar and amaretto.
Mix in a separate bowl the flour, baking powder and salt and stir slowly into the liquid batter.
Separate 1/3 of the dough and mix it with the melted choclate , milk and sugar.
Fill 1/2 tablespoon of the white batter into the cups, then put on top 1/2 of the black batter and again the rest of the white batter.
Bake for 15-20 min and enjoy
