Finally Louise is mine – after years and years of searching I found the adorable plush owl Bob gives Charlotte in Lost in Translation.
I couldn’t be happier

Thanks for commenting on my blog. :) I’m really glad you did because now I’ve discovered your blog and it’s wonderful! This little owl is SO cute. I don’t remember it from the film so I’ll have to rewatch. Did you find it in a store in Japan, or online? At the moment I’m obsessed with owning a giant plush Totoro. :)

Hey everyone! I managed to find this elusive owl and had it shipped to the US! There is a website called Rakuten that is pretty much the Amazon of Japan. After searching for days I found a seller who sold all the large owls but only in Japan. Luckily, Rakuten has a sister site called Tenso that is purely a shipping company. Keep in mind both of these sites have English settings so it’s easier to navigate through them. I ordered the owl sent it to Tenso who then shipped it to the USA. It was about 50 dollars and got here in about 2 weeks. I love mine it is very soft! But you better get yours soon because the seller told me that the Louise company is discontinuing the LIT owl (the factory was partially destroyed in the earthquake). I’m glad I got mine.

I looked on the rakuten website and the owl is around $80, was shipping $50? Also, what was the weight of the owl? Tenso is charging by weight and I can’t seem to find that info.

Hi Kelly, – sorry no idea about shipping – I bought it in a toy store in Japan. It’s pretty light by the way…

Kelly Ly on 30 November, 2011 at 8:08 am #

I was told by the seller it is around 800g in case anyone wants to get an idea on how much shipping will cost.

Hello all, came across this last night whilst looking for this elusive owl! I just thought I’d let you know that Flutterscape seem to ship to the UK (plus lots of other countries) and have several owls up on their shop – it seems to be an Etsy/eBay kind of thing where it’s listed and then it says if there are sellers – here’s a few links, it also has the smaller sizes –
I think the second link is the one that I purchased.
Also I paid with Paypal so it was pretty easy, says it will be here within 2 weeks. Will let you know if it arrives! (I hope so!)
Shipping details here –
Insurance up to 20,000 yen plus tracking number. Hope this is helpful!
